3 Signs You’re Ready For A Life Coach
Life coaching can sound incredibly vague or even confusing, and in some cases may sound intense or extreme. Especially if you’re queer, neurodivergent, chronically ill or burnt out, or feeling like you’ve tried everything else already. Maybe you’re worried that you don’t ‘deserve’ help because your life isn’t completely falling apart, or you don’t feel like you fully understand what a life coach can do for you or where to start.
You’re not alone in this feeling - many people don’t know what to do in your shoes or when to choose a life coach. A life coach can do various things for you depending on the coach and their speciality. In my coaching practice specifically, I help people achieve a more positive mindset, work on good habits/lifestyle changes, and give nutritional and general health advice (but I don’t replace a doctor - no life coach does!). Finding a good life coach is a mix of finding one with the right niche you’re looking for; as well as, making sure the two of you mesh well in a coaching environment.
Still don’t know where to go from here? Here are three signs that life coaching might actually be the next step you didn’t know you needed:
🔹 1. You feel stuck — and you're tired of staying stuck.
You’ve read all the self help books and researched all the different lifestyle techniques. You bought a planner and a journal, and have written dozens of to-do lists and goals. You’ve rebranded yourself. You’ve rearranged your living space entirely. You’ve done it all, but somehow… nothing changes.
A coach helps you get un-stuck, not by telling you what to do, but by helping you figure out what works for you — in a way that fits your brain, your identity, and your real life.
🔹 2. You're craving change, but everything feels overwhelming.
Sometimes trying to change any or all aspects of your life can look really overwhelming at first. You want to do or change all of these different things, but you have no idea where to start or how to go about it. Whether you’re in the middle of a big life transition or just feel like something isn’t clicking with you anymore, it’s hard to make big shifts alone - especially if you’re executive functioning is MIA.
Coaching helps break down the feeling of paralysis you experience when getting started or trying to keep going. We figure it out together, in a way that feels afirming, non-judgemental, and sustainable!
🔹 3. You want support — but not the kind that talks down to you.
If you’re queer, neurodivergent, or just done being told how to live your life in the way society expects you to, then you need support that meets you where you are, not where society thinks you “should” be.
Coaching isn’t meant to “fix” you. It’s meant to help you reconnect with your goals, strengths, values, and (most importantly) yourself. It will help you build a life that reflects you, not someone else’s version of you.
Conclusion:
You don’t have to be broken to want change, and you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re feeling stuck, craving change, or want affirming support, coaching may be for you.
